We carefully picked leaves from a very abundant patch of ramps. Together with watermelon radish, mulberries frozen at peak season last summer and dry chiles from New Mexico gifted by friends, they get salted and will sit for a couple of weeks to ferment. One year ago today we celebrated the opening of our neighbors @sophomorecoffee with a special edition of Avant Brunch, a sneak peak of our space before we officially opened. The past four weeks have been a challenge and we are overwhelmed with gratitude for those of you who have shopped with us, bought gift certificates and donated funds to make discounts for service workers and meals for frontline hospital workers available. We have decided to close our doors for the next two weeks. We will use this time to pause, reflect, plan for the next leg of the journey and get some much needed rest. Strange times. Like everyone right now, we are reading and thinking and talking about this emerging situation very closely... meanwhile, the flowers are blooming. We’ll remain open through the weekend, at least. Ask us about Frozen Foods to get you through the next few weeks of uncertainty.
